All-School Reunion Review
by Linda Davis
September 14, 2007
The UHS/PCHS All School Reunion met September 1 and 2, 2007 at the Putnam County R-I Schools. Classes from the 1930s to the 1980s were represented.
Approximately 208 attended the catered lunch on Saturday. Alumni t-shirts were bought as alumni filed in to register and pick up lunch tickets and name tags. Catching up was the intent of most of those in attendance.
A short program on Saturday morning kicked off the two day event. Darl Davis presented a PowerPoint slide show in the middle school auditorium to commemorate those alumni who had died over the past year. Several in attendance shared the microphone to recall memories of teachers and events from their high school years.
Old cars, tractors, and motorcycles were on display for those interested. Wagons pulled by pickups took several alumni on a tour of the older homes of Unionville, as well as the old high school gymnasium.
The Class of 1957 hosted a get together at the Country Club on Saturday evening. Sunday morning began with a time of gospel singing and a short business meeting. There was some discussion about how to get local alumni to attend the reunion. Following the business meeting, a catered meal was enjoyed by about 93.
Mark your calendars for next Labor Day weekend, August 30-31, 2008.
