Character Education Skit

The elementary students received a real treat when staff members acted out the story of "Stand Tall, Molly Lou Melon." For those not familiar with the story, Molly is a very unique girl, who with a positive attitude and encouragement from her grandmother, overcomes a lot of life's obstacles.
Mrs. Gibson did a wonderful job as she played the role of grandmother. Mrs. Stevens portrayed the role of Molly Lou Melon, and Mr. Griffen was the class bully named Ronald Durkin.
Following the skit, Mrs. Sands reminded all students that life is about making choices, and Molly used self-control in dealing with the bully.
The Character Education word for October is "self-control."
