Dr. Jeff Davis, Class of 91, and his wife, Trinity, former science teacher at PCHS, participated in the NEMO Triathlon on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at Thousand Hills State Park near Kirksville, Missouri.
The Davis family also raced in the Tri-Jesus Triathlon in Quincy, Illinois in early June and in the Who Tri’s Harder Triathlon at Innsbrook Resort outside of St. Louis, Missouri later in June.
There were over 150 entries in the NEMO Triathlon this year. The race included a ¾ -mile swim in Forest Lake at the State Park, an 18-mile bike, and a five-mile run up and down the park’s namesake hills.
This was the second consecutive NEMO Triathlon the couple has completed.
Dr. Davis crossed the finish line in a time of 2:10:32, finishing 8th in his age group. Trinity completed the course with a time of 2:11:22, finishing 5th in her age group and was the 25th female overall. The couple hopes to compete in Columbia, Missouri, in May, 2008, for the Merrill Lynch Race for Sight Triathlon as their next multi-sport race.
