Family Fun Night

Family Fun Night was held Saturday, November 3, 2007, in the elementary building. The PTO officers and volunteers did an outstanding job putting together an evening of fun. There were a few new game rooms this year such as the DDR (Dance Dance Revolution), a Rock Climbing Wall and Guitar Hero. Other games included pop ring toss, a maze built from large cardboard boxes, a cake walk, duck pond, basketball throw, football toss, dunk tank, bouncy rooms, and plenty of delicious food. It would be fair to say that one of the most visited rooms was the room with the sumo rings.
Family Fun Night is PTO's annual fundraiser. The money they make is put back into the school. Each elementary teacher is given $100 to purchase items for their classroom. In addition to the $100 given, the PTO is purchasing supplements to the elementary's new reading series, such as books and CD players. This year PTO also plans to purchase items for Coach K's physical education classes.
About $4,000 was raised on Saturday. Thanks to all the parents and community for their support!!
Unless you have helped volunteer or organized one of these events, you truly don't know the amount of time and effort that is put into the evening. Please make sure you thank your PTO members and volunteers who helped make this event possible.
This month's character education word is citizenship. PTO always welcomes volunteers.
