Artwork Adds Pizzazz

In-house artists, art teacher Mr. Jim Dover and senior Allie C., have contributed their great talents to adorn the halls of the elementary gym and the high school library, respectively.
Mr. Dover worked with students to create action silhouettes taken from photographs whose images were enlarged and transferred onto and cut out of black construction paper. The running, jumping, and swinging silhouettes of children seem to tumble along the gym wall.
Allie took on the sole job of creating a mural out of pen and colorful tempera paints that illustrate the joy of reading. She first drew then painted and outlined each figure. In order to get a sharper edge, she cut out the figures and glued them onto a banner of white, creating a continuous mural.
Allie then added her painted graphics of books with her favorite titles penned on them. Both artists’ works of art are delightful additions to Putnam County R-1 School District.
