At the beginning of the 2007-2008 school year, I started my second year as an elementary guidance counselor at Putnam County R-I Schools. I had been the school-based social worker for the Putnam County R-1 School District for four years before becoming the school counselor. Prior to my employment at Putnam County R-1, I was a social worker for the Department of Social Services for nearly ten years, gaining valuable experience working with children and families.

It is with great pleasure that I serve as the elementary counselor. The Missouri Comprehensive Guidance Program consists of four major components: Personal/Social, Individual Planning, Academic Planning, and Careers. The students all receive weekly classroom guidance instruction. As school counselor I provide brief individual and group counseling related to problems of a personal or social concern, and I serve as building test coordinator.

I would invite you to come by the school and visit with me should you have any questions or concerns about your child and our school. It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to serve as elementary counselor.
