4th Grade Student Leads the Way in Creative Art Project

4th Grade Student Leads the Way in Creative Art Project

December 10, 2007

The creativity of 4th Grade student, Sierra, led to the development of a winter art project that ultimately involved grades three through four. Mr. Dover, the elementary art teacher said it was such a good idea it needed to be shared with other students.

The project entailed a creative use of paper roll tubes turned into Santa figures on a card board base with various other Christmas icons, such as decorated trees and fireplaces all made from construction paper and other materials.

3D standing art projects are challenging for elementary students because they have to think from more than one angle.

This project will be incorporated into the art curriculum and many pieces are now on display in the elementary display case just inside the front doors, including Sierra's original piece that started it all.
