One Way to Scare My Mom   by Amber

"Ahhhhhhhhh!" screamed my mom when she saw the ugly, slimy, little thing.  It was the summer of 1999 when my friend Josh and I scared my mom with a little animal at my house.

It all began one hot summer day when I was playing outside.  I looked at the dirt pile in my backyard and saw a big rock.  After I moved the rock I saw a bunch of snakes.  A little bit later I told my friend Josh, but I didn't tell my mom.

Then, the next day, Josh and I were playing in the road.  We found one of the baby snakes.  We were playing with it when Josh said, "Let's show your mom!"  We ran toward the house with the snake.  Once we got to the door, I knocked.  My mom peeked out the door.  "Ahhhhhh...!" she screamed when she saw it.

    "What?" I asked.

"It's a snake!" she yelled.  "Kill it!"

    "Why?" Josh asked.

My mom yelled, "Because when it grows up it's going to bite!"  So we took it back to the road.  Josh cut its head off with a rock, and I ran over it with my tricycle.  Pretty soon a car came by and squashed it.

In conclusion, it was hilarious to scare my mom with the snake.  It was also disgusting to see it die.  This just goes to show how curious little kids are!
