The Big Incident

by Mason

There was blood dripping in the bathroom and it was all my fault.  When I was about eight years old in Olathe, Kansas, this terrible event that I would soon regret took place.

My day started like any normal day.  I went downstairs to eat breakfast, and I played video games for most of the day.  But that all changed when Mom told me to go to take a shower.  So I took a shower.  Right after I was finished, I saw a razor.  I thought briefly to myself that it would be cool to shave!  I also thought my lip was a little hairy, so I made the decision to pick up the razor.

I took the razor and swiped it down my lip.  All at once I screeched, "OWWW!"  Blood immediately started dripping on the carpet.  My mom heard my screeching, so she yelled up from downstairs, "What did you do?"  I said, "Nothing," like any normal kid would say if he didn't want to get in trouble.  But she didn't buy it.  She called me downstairs.  I quickly hid the razor and went downstairs.

When I went downstairs with my hand over my lip, both Mom and Dad knew instantly what I had done.  They didn't get angry with me that much because I was still young, but every time they saw me, they laughed.  Soon after they stopped laughing, they told me we had to go to our Grandma's house for a party.  I was furious because I didn't want my family to see me and what I did.  But I went to the party anyway and no one made fun of me, except occasionally my grandpa teased me, but that was okay.

As you can see, everything turned out great.  But the one lesson I hope you learned from this story is - if you ever need to shave, USE SHAVING CREAM!!!
