Sixteen members of the Putnam County FFA Chapter attended the Greenhand Motivational Conference held in Kirksville, Missouri, January 9, 2008. This leadership conference is held annually for first-year FFA members. The purpose of the conference is to provide the opportunity for Greenhands to meet State FFA officers, learn more about the field of agriculture and to realize the many opportunities available in the National FFA Association.
Those attending had the chance to view five State FFA officers perform an entertaining skit about FFA opportunities. Students were also divided into groups and participated in team building activities. The final event of the conference was a motivational speech by one of the State FFA vice presidents. This conference was sponsored by MFA Incorporated and the Missouri FFA Association.
The Greenhands attending for the Putnam County FFA were: Austin, Sara, Mattie, Josh, Kailee, Connor, Morgan, Kyle, Dallas, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Brody, Levi T., and Dylan. Also attending for the Putnam County FFA and serving as an Area FFA Officer was Brady F., who helped manage the conference activities.
