January 20, 2008
To kick off Career Education Month, the Putnam County R-I vocational departments will hold an open house Friday, January 25, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tours will be given of agriculture, building trades, family and consumer sciences, business, and marketing classrooms and shops. Students will be on hand to showcase special projects, demonstrate equipment, and provide information. The open house is being held prior to the Courtwarming basketball games and a map of the departments will be available in the commons.
Putnam County R-I students are fortunate to be able to enroll in five different vocational programs. The school has been able to fully utilize state grants and matching monies to equip the classrooms. Input from the community is vital to keeping the programs current with industry trends and requirements. Anyone with questions or comments may contact Mary Comstock at 947-3361, ext. 303.
