The elementary school hosted its monthly character education assembly Monday, January 28. The Fourth graders made nominations for community members whom they felt displayed gratefulness. The nominations were voted on by the elementary character-ed committee. The distinguished visitors from each classroom were also honored for displaying gratefulness and were given prizes donated by HyVee.
Mrs. Butler gave excellent examples of what trustworthiness is when introducing it as February's character word. Coach Kauzlarich invited the entire 5th grade class up with him as he awarded Mrs. Preston's class the trophy from the dodge ball tournament. He explained how good sportsmanship is not about winning or losing; it is about being gracious winners and humble losers.
The next character education assemble will be Monday, February 25.
