State Science Olympiad Competition

The Putnam County Science Olympiad Team traveled to Columbia to compete in the state tournament on Saturday, March 15. The squad placed 23 in the state out of 32 teams. We placed in the top ten in four events including Wright Stuff (4th), Electric Vehicle (7th), Food Science (8th), and Experimental Design (9th).
The 4th place finish in Wright Stuff is the highest score Putnam County R-1 has scored at the state competition. The students involved in all the events logged numerous extra hours preparing for their events. Coaches Finis Watt and Andrew Garber would like to express our appreciation for all the hard work done and commend the students upon their accomplishments.
