Do you have a Fire Escape Plan?

Fire and Safety House visits Putnam County Elem.

April 08, 2008

The Liberty Township Fire Protection District and Putnam County Fire & Rescue Training Association brought Blank Children's Hospital Fire and Safety House to Putnam County R-1 Elementary School.

All students Pre-K through 5th grade and Head Start were able to tour the Fire and Safety House.

Students brought home a sheet for the family to make an escape plan together.

Statistics show only 25% of households have developed and practiced a plan. Another alarming statistic is that a working smoke alarm is not present in two-thirds of the residential fires in which a child is injured or killed.
