Varsity Campus Bowl Completes Season

The Putnam County Varsity Campus Bowl team competed in the First Annual Tri-Rivers Conference Campus Bowl Tournament held at Memphis, Missouri, on March 7, 2008. Morgen was selected for the All-Tournament Team with an average of 5 tossups per game. The team played three games, losing to Scotland County 260-135 and Clark County 205-140. They won over Milan 230-90.
The Varsity Campus Bowl team completed their season with a 0-7 win-loss record in conference, and a 3-10 record overall.
The varsity team played in Districts held at Schuyler County on April 12. Matthew was on the All-District Tournament Team, averaging 7.5 toss-ups per game. In the District Tournament, the team defeated Marceline 230-205, but lost to tough competitor Knox County 350-125, who went on to the championship round in the afternoon. Schuyler County ultimately won the tournament.
Team members for the 2008 season were Senior Matthew; Juniors
Kaci and Kasey; Sophomore Daniel and Freshmen Morgen
and Gary.
Matthew and Morgen were selected for the Honorable Mention
All-Conference team, with 4.2 and 3.4 tossup questions per game,
respectively.
