Mrs. Houf's Kindergarten Class

By Karen Houf

May 01, 2008

Monday is "Show and Tell" Days in Mrs. Houf's Kindergarten Class.

We enjoyed seeing Swayde's dirt bike. He told us about all the races he enters. He explained how to start his bike, how to stop it, and what safety equipment he wears. He let all of us sit on it and we really liked that!

We have enjoyed the past Show and Tells also. In the past we have enjoyed seeing a mounted deer head. We learned several interesting facts about deer and deer hunting from Bryce's step-dad. We also enjoyed seeing the race car belonging to Matthew's dad. We learned about racing and what racers do to prepare for a race. He also explained about racing rules and safety equipment required for a race.

The Kindergartners and I appreciate the will parents and community volunteers that help to make our Show and Tell Mondays memorable and informative.

Thank you to the Putnam Co. School Board for allowing us another end-of-the-year field trip. We took a road trip to Sharon Bluffs Park on Wednesday, April 30. We enjoyed a beautiful day of seeing hawks and owls that had been rescued and nursed back to health; we saw elk and deer; and we visited the nature center and saw many animals, such as albino deer, bobcats, buffalo, and many more.

The children enjoyed having the opportunity of playing outside and just enjoying the day.

Thank you to the parents who took time from their busy schedules to join us and spend some quality time with their child and help with the others'.
