Putnam County School District received delivery of a new Bobcat T-190 Track Loader and attachments on Friday, May 30. This purchase was made possible in part through receipt of a Missouri Department of Natural Resources Recreational Trail Grant which was awarded at the end of 2007.
This equipment will be instrumental in the creation and maintenance of the trail project which will be located on the southeast portion of the Putnam County R-I School property. The school submitted a summation of all bids received to the Department of Natural Resources for approval and has been waiting on the delivery of the Bobcat to begin work on the project.
Heath Halley, Superintendent, Bill Godfrey, Building Trades teacher, and John Fowler, Director of Maintenance, will be overseeing the project. The Putnam Prairie Trail will be a positive asset to the district.
