Nineteen juniors and seniors were inducted into the Putnam County R-I chapter of the National Honor Society Tuesday evening. Members were academically eligible with a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
Mrs. Melissa Schmidli gave the keynote address. She tested the students with a short version of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” Her speech detailed the four pillars of National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
A candlelight induction ceremony led by president Kasey K. and various members of the National Honor Society culminated in the introduction of each new member.
National Honor Society organizes the Veterans Day program and holds two blood drives at the school.
