Major Building Project for S.O.A.R. Students
Families Created Gingerbread Houses at Family Night

The snow that visited Putnam County on Wednesday afternoon did not halt the efforts of the S.O.A.R. Before and Afterschool Program from completing Gingerbread Houses for the Downtown Winter Festival which will take place Saturday, December 6, around the Putnam County Square.
Mrs. Diane McClain guided the students through
a cooking class earlier in the week to prepare Pizza Burgers that
were served at the family night activity. Several individuals
made much-appreciated contributions to make this project a
success. Mrs. Shannon Stanley, of Take The
Cake, donated supplies and also provided instructions for
this wonderfully exciting project. Mrs. Joyce McCormack also
was on hand to help with construction. She also visited the
S.O.A.R. Program earlier in the week to lead the students in a
Gingerbread project to prepare them for Wednesday night’s activity.
The Unionville Rotary Club and an anonymous donor helped
cover the cost of the project supplies.
