Special Olympics Spring Games Practice is Nearing
by Kim Knight
February 26, 2010
It's nearly time for Special Olympics practice to begin. Letters will go out shortly to those who have previously participated. Letters will also be sent to students who will be eligible for the first time this year. In order to be eligible for Special Olympics, students must be at least 8 years of age and meet other eligibility criteria. To view this criteria and for more information on Special Olympics and what it can do for students, please click on the following link: Click here to learn more about athletes.
I have physical forms that will go out with the letters for new athletes or athletes that need to update their physicals. If your athlete does not receive a physical form, then he/she does not need to update his or hers. Physical forms are also located at the above address. The physical form is connected to a link on the bottom right side under “Downloadable Documents” that says “Athlete Physical Form.” They will also need a release form, and the link for that is directly under the physical form link.
Mrs. Salisbury will be helping us again and Mrs. Altiser when she’s available. Please let us know if you have any questions. As soon as I have a confirmed date for Spring Games, I’ll let you know! I look forward to a new season of athletes.
In anticipation of a great season,
Mrs. Knight
