FFA State Convention 2012
It was another great year for our FFA Chapter at State Convention this year. We are proud to say we had six teams advance to state, which include the Dairy Foods team, Agronomy team, Entomology team, Soils team, Meats team, and our Forestry team. Each team went down to Columbia, MO, and competed well against many teams throughout the state of Missouri. Dairy foods team consisted of Derek T., Becca M., Dillon B., and Trey R.. The team placed 29th and received a group II rating. Agronomy team consisted of Jacey V., Krista F., Ashley S., and Shelby R.. The team placed 26th and received a Group II rating. The Entomology team consisted of Katie R., Craig G., Samantha S., and Dakoda O.. The team placed 31st and received a group II rating. The Soils team consisted of Allen N., Jarrod M., K., and Brittany G.. The team placed 26th overall and received a group II rating. The Meats team consisted of Sydney M., Drake M., Montana S., and Alex O.. The team placed 19th overall and received a group II rating. This year’s Forestry team consisted of Damien G., Samantha , and Gloria C.. The team placed 35th overall and received a group III rating. Competing in the state FFA talent show we had Dalice M.. Along with our achievements in contest teams we had four members receive their proficiency awards while attending the convention. Those members consisted of Katie R. Ag education, Jacob Vestal Ag Mechanics Design, Derek T. Beef Production, and Drake M. Sheep Production. We are also proud to say Samantha S. who was acknowledged and received her State FFA degree on Friday evening. Overall it was another successful year for our FFA chapter at state convention and we have our sights set high for next year as well.
