2012 Special Olympics Spring Games
Northeast Area Special Olympics Results
The Northeast Area Special Olympics were held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Putnam County was represented by six students who each brought home three medals for a total of 14 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze. These students participated in 100 m dash, or 200 m run; softball throw or shot put; and standing long jump or running long jump. All students did an amazing job and should be very proud of their accomplishments! Putnam County R-I students who competed are pictured above and include (Left to Right Front Row) Tierney, Hope, and Casey; (Left to Right Back Row) Robert, James, and Meghan. Coaches for the Putnam County Special Olympic Team included Mary Bartram and Kim Knight. Assistant Coach was Hannah Franke. Congratulations Athletes—We are so proud of you!!! Our team would like to say a special “THANK YOU” to Coach and Mrs. Auld for donating our shirts again this year---YOU ARE AWESOME!
