Echo King and Queen Crowned

by Melissa Schmidli

January 08, 2010

Derek and Courtney were crowned the Echo King and Queen for 2010 on December 7, 2009. Introductions and the announcement were made by yearbook staff member Elizabeth. The Echo candidates are nominated by their classmates. Candidates were interviewed on November 10 and the winners were determined by the Kirksville Women of Today.

The staff would like to extend special thanks to Jake and Joetta, 2009 King and Queen, who crowned the new royalty; Joetta and Sarah, yearbook club members who assisted with the preparations; and Elizabeth and Charmaine who are the Echo Coordinators.

The coronation ceremony is a kick-off for yearbook sales. Yearbooks can be bought from staff members at the sale price through February 1. The cost of a regular yearbook is $27 while a personalized yearbook is $32. New books will have 124 pages of all the Putnam County activities that you are accustomed to, plus 16 pages of current events, and more pages for signing. Also, the new book format will be slightly larger than the previous book format. After February 1, prices for the 2010 book go up $5. You can purchase one from any of the yearbook staff members: Tori, Elizabeth, Charmaine, and Clay.
