For the last few weeks, the 7th and 8th grade Ag students have been working on projects that involve memorization, public speaking, and parliamentary procedure. These are some of the key aspects of the FFA along with leadership in agriculture, which helps develop a quality agricultural experience.
The Middle School Ag students have memorized the first paragraph of the creed and recited it back to the class. This will prepare them for their freshman year where they have to memorize the whole creed.
They have also learned the basics of parliamentary procedure and have conducted a mock business meeting.
Last week they finished up their FFA opening ceremonies project, which involved every student assuming an FFA officer’s duties. After they have memorized the duties of their assigned office, they had to recite that part in front of the class; and as a group they properly opened and closed an FFA meeting.
