Ag Contest Season Begins

by Clyde Bondy

March 01, 2010

FFA week marks the start of Ag contest season.  Every year at this time, the Ag instructors and students gear up for a very competitive season.  The Northeast District Ag contest is known throughout the state of Missouri as one of the toughest, if not the toughest district in Missouri for Ag competition.  The intense competition even takes place within the walls at the Putnam County Ag department because being on one of these teams is so sought after, that a student might have to tryout to get on the team that they want.

From FFA week until the middle of April, there will be a lot of late nights and early mornings as instructors and students practice diligently for the chance to go to state or win state competition in an ag-related event.  Putnam County is an agricultural community and a very competitive community so for the love of agriculture and competition, the rich tradition continues inside the PCHS Ag department.
