2009-2010 Scholarships

1.  University of Missouri at Columbia is offering three scholarships for the Trulaske College of Business.  These include Ponder Minority, the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. Scholarship in Business, and the Sam M. Walton Scholarship in Retail.  Deadline to apply for these scholarships is February 1, 2010.  See Ms. Spence for an application.
2.  The Missouri Cattlemen Foundation is offering a scholarship program.  Applications must be completed and postmarked by September 30 to be considered.  See Mr. Morris as soon as possible.
3.  Missouri S & T is offering the Chancellor’s Scholarship.  Deadline to apply is November 1, 2009.  See Ms. Spence for an application.
4.  Coca-Cola is offering a scholarship at www.coca-colascholars.org.  Deadline to apply is October 31.
5.  The Art Institute has scholarship opportunities at www.aiadvantage.com.  
6.  The National Commission for Cooperative Education is offering a scholarship program for students enrolling in one of their eight NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities.  Go to www.co-op.edu for more information.  Deadline to apply is February 15, 2010.
7.  The National Achievement Scholarship Program is available to outstanding Black American high school students.  See Ms. Spence for more information.
8.  The Christian Connector provides a FREE Christian college information service as well as a $2,500.00 scholarship drawing.  Go to www.christianconnector.com to request information.
9.  AXA Achievement scholarship may be found at www.axa-achievement.com.  Deadline to apply is December 15, 2009.
10. Discover Colleges provides a FREE private college information service as well as a $2500 private college scholarship drawing.  Log on to www.discovercolleges.com for more information.
11.  National scholarships for seniors can be found by visiting the following website:  gwcf.org.  Deadline to apply is January 15, 2010.
12.  The Delta Nu Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon social fraternity at Northwest Missouri State is offering a scholarship at www.nwtke.com/content/scholarship.  Deadline is April 1, 2010.
13.  The Builder of Men Scholarship is offered to incoming males to the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Deadline is March 1, 2010.  See Ms. Spence for an application.
14.  Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation is offering a scholarship at www.coca-colascholars.org.  Deadline to apply is October 31, 2009.
15. US Bank offers a scholarship program at usbank.com/studenloans.  Scholarship online applications will be accepted from October, 2009 through March, 2010.
16.  KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program is offering up to $5000 per year for tuition, fees, books, and room and board to a student.  Students complete the application online at www.kfcscholars.org.  This application will be available from December 1, 2009 through February 10, 2010.
17.  The Missouri Senate Scholarship is now available at the Missouri JCI website under forms.  The deadline date is January 4, 2010.  The JCI Senate will choose two nominees to represent Missouri.
18.  The Show-Me Chapter offers a $2000 and a $1000 scholarship for a high school senior or undergraduate.  This is an essay contest.  Information can be found at http://www.swcs.missouri.edu/Scholarships/ShowMeSWCS_Scholarship/ScholarshipInfo.ht .  Applications must be postmarked by November 30th.
19.  The Conservation Foundation of Missouri Scholarship offers 5 $1000 scholarships to high school seniors or undergraduates in different natural resources areas.  Applications must be submitted by December 31. The Soil and Water Conservation Society Scholarship is due November 30, 2009.   Information can be found at http://www.swcs.missouri.edu/scholarship.htm.  
20.  DECA is offering several scholarships.  See Mr. Lynch or Ms. Spence for more information.
21.  The Mizzou Alumni Association will provide an estimated $26,000 I scholarships for students who will enroll at the University of MO-Columbia in the fall of 2010. Minimum qualifications for the Alumni Scholars Program are 26 or higher on ACT or rank in top 20% of high school graduating class.  Information and application can be found at www.mizzou.com/scholarship.  Deadline to apply is February 1, 2010.
22.  The Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors awards up to four annual scholarships in the amount of $1000 each ($500 per semester) to up to four full-time students.  Both men and women, attending a vocational/technical school, and pursuing a certificate or associates degree in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair, are eligible to apply.  Applicants must have 2.5 or higher GPA.  Deadline to apply is March 15, 2010.  See Ms. Spence for an application.
23.  The BILL MERTENS MEMORIAL DAILY IOWAN SCHOLARSHIP at the University of Iowa is now available to outstanding high school journalists.  The recipient will also be required to work in THE DAILY IOWAN newsroom.  Applications may be found at dailyiowan.com.  Deadline is January 29, 2009.
24.  Senior athletes may apply for scholarships and prizes at bodybymilk.com.  Deadline is March 5, 2010.
25.  The Missouri gaming Association is pleased to announce its 2010 Project 21 Scholarship program for Missouri high school seniors.  Students may submit an article, poster, or video.  All entries must be submitted by March 5, 2010.  Applications may be downloaded at:  http://www.missouricasinos.org/pdfs/project_21.pdf.  
26.  The James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program is now accepting applications until February 28, 2010.  Go to sms.scholarshipamerica.org/Westlake for an application and more details.
27.  The Missouri Insurance Education Foundation is awarding scholarships to deserving students attending a Missouri college or university.  Completed applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2010.  See Ms. Spence for an application.
28.  Buena Vista University has several scholarship opportunities, like The Honors Program and Dean’s Fellowship Program.  Scholarship competition days are Jan. 30th and Feb. 20th.  See Ms. Spence for more details.
29.  The National Defense Transportation Association is offering a scholarship program to promote careers in Business, Transportation Logistics, and Physical Distribution.  High school students must reside in Illinois or Missouri.  See Ms. Spence for an application.  Deadline to apply is March 1, 2010.
30.  Northeast Missouri Rural Telephone is offering a scholarship at http://www.frs.org.  Completed applications and accompanying documents should be sent to NEMR, P.O. Box 98, Green City, MO, postmarked no later than February 20th.  Ms. Spence also has a copy of the application.
31.  Scholarships from Best Buy are available at www.bestbuy.com/scholarships or www.at15.com.  
32.  Moberly Area Community College New Traditions Institutional Scholarship is available.  Student must plan to attend MACC and pursue a career and technical major, i.e. an Associate of Applied Science or Associate Degree Nursing major, not an Associate of Arts (transfer degree) program.  The application is available online at http://www.macc.edu.   Select the Services tab and click on New Traditions.
33.  Farm Kids for College Scholarship is now available.  Student must major in an agricultural field at an accredited college or university.  See Ms. Spence for an application.  Deadline to apply is March 15, 2010.
34. The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship is for students scoring in the 90th percentile on the ACT.  See Ms. Spence for an application.  Deadline to apply is April 15th.

36.  The Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship Application is now available to seniors that have exhibited academic achievement and /or economic need.  Applications must be postmarked by March 26th.  See Ms. Spence for a copy of the application.
37.  Indian Hills will be hosting College Goal Sunday on Saturday, February 20, from 9 to 3.  See Ms. Spence for more details.
38.  The Men of Alpha Gamma Sigma established a scholarship that is meant to reward male high school seniors intent upon attend MU at Columbia.  See Ms. Spence for an application.  Deadline is June 1, 2010.

40. To alleviate the shortage of qualified science teachers in our state, the University of Missouri is proud to announce a new science dual-degree program:  Tomorrow’s Teachers with Dual Degrees (T2D2).  This program allows students to earn a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Geology or Physics while concurrently earning a bachelor’s degree in education.  T2D2 provides paid summer internships for MU freshmen and sophomores wishing to explore teaching as a career.  Students enrolled in dual-degree programs are eligible for $11,000 annual Noyce scholarships during their junior and senior years.  Go to http://t2d2.missouri.edu for more information.
41.  The PSF scholarship is due March 31, 2010.  See Ms. Spence for an application.

42.  The Mercy Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary will be awarding $1000 scholarships to be used for books or tuition for persons entering any licensed field of medicine.  Applications for the scholarship must be picked up at Mercy Medical center from Jody or Mitzi.  Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2010.
