FBLA Students Attend State Leadership Conference
by Kathy Lorensen
Members of the PC R1 Future Business Leaders of America Chapter recently attended the 2010 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference on April 18th, 19th and 20th in Columbia, Missouri.
FBLA is a career and technical student organization for all high school students participating in business programs. Over 2,750 members and advisers representing 426 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.
Delegates representing the PCR1 Chapter were Jessica L, Sarah C and Joetta S. Students who competed in events were Jake B, Colt B, Dillon C, Joetta S, Jackie P and Brett T. Winning recognition at the state conference were: Jake and Dillon with a 4th place win in Global Business and Jake with a 6th place win in Mr. FBL.
Overall, this year's SLC was a success and everyone had a great time. Between campaigning for Jake’s VP election to the leadership workshops over Money, Money, Money and Cyber Bullying to listening to motivational speaker Sam Glenn, the students had a great experience and met lots of new people from all over the state.
