Math Websites for Students
Do you ever feel like your child spends too much time on the computer or playing video games? There are some great learning web sites out there that encourage logical thinking and also enhance math skills. Some of my personal favorites as of now are www.ixl.com, www.thatquiz.org, and www.mathplayground.com. IXL has many specific math skills to practice. As a math teacher and parent, I like that it is geared toward our state's standards for the MAP test. If you want to check this out, go to the site and click on the "state standards" tab and then click on Missouri. It will prompt you to choose your child's grade level. There you will see the state standards that students will be tested on in the spring. I encourage each of you to check it out and get a grasp of what your child is learning in their math class this year. Also, www.thatquiz.org offers many important skills that any student should be familiar with. In addition, check out the logic puzzles, math videos, word problems and math games on www.mathplayground.com. You may just find some pretty amazing and addicting ways to make learning fun.
