Champions Support New Track
Fundraiser Underway
Missouri track champions Katie Evans and Barbie McHenry Swiger are leading the way with support for the upcoming track renovation. Pictured with Katie and Barbie are Jamie Tipton, head track coach, and Sarah Bradshaw, food service director.
Both ladies understand the importance of a new community, all-weather track. Barbie won the state high jump contest in 1977. Katie won the state discus championship in 2007, 2008 and 2009 as well as the state shot put title in 2008 and 2009. Katie currently competes as a member of the University of Missouri track team.
As a fundraiser, cookbooks are being sold for $15 with all profits going into the track fund. The 845-recipe book is available in the superintendent's office or by contacting Sarah Bradshaw. Recipes were provided by Putnam County staff and friends.
