Call now to schedule your appointment!

It’s that time of year to begin planning for the 2012-2013 school year.  Kindergarten and Preschool Enrollment are two important events that help the school plan for our youngest students.

Kindergarten Enrollment will be conducted on Monday, March 5th, Tuesday, March 6th, and Friday, March 9th.  Kindergarten enrollment is mandatory for children turning five years old by 08/01/2012 and planning to enroll in kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year.

Preschool Enrollment will be held on Monday, March 19th, Tuesday, March 20th, and Friday, March 23rd.  Completion of the Preschool enrollment process is mandatory to be eligible for entry into the preschool program.  Children turning four before August 1, 2012, are eligible to attend.  Please call Mrs. Jolene White, elementary school secretary, at 947-3361, extension 318 to schedule an appointment for your child’s screening.

The areas screened include health, vision, hearing, speech, language, motor, concepts, self-help, and social development.  The entire screening process could take one to two hours to complete so be sure to schedule accordingly.  Parents need to bring several items to their appointment.  Please bring the following:
1. Child’s birth certificate
2. Child’s Social Security number (optional)
3. Child’s Immunization records
4. Proof of residency (Examples include a Rental Contract, Real Estate Contract signed by all parties, Utilities Bill/Deposit Receipt, payroll check, driver’s license, W-4 employment documents or a post-marked envelope received in the mail with your name and address on it).

The beginning of formal education is a major milestone for children and their parents.  We also know that this can be a stressful time for some folks.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school with any and all concerns or questions.  We are all looking forward to the opportunity to meet our new group of students and their families.
