    In order to be compliant with revised 2013 standards from the Missouri Department of Secondary and Elementary Education (DESE), the Putnam County R1 School Board has approved changes to bus routes involving Unionville (city) bus stops.  DESE regulations state that town or city schools bus stops shall not be closer than 500’ apart, and that school bus stops should be spaced at least 5 to 6 blocks apart.  Taking into consideration the age groups of our bus riders we have approved a plan that includes bus stops no farther than 3 blocks apart with most stops having less than two blocks between them.  This is a change from how students were picked up house to house in the past.  Established stops will increase safety of the riders, make our city transportation more efficient, and bring us into compliance with DESE standards and regulations.  Listed below are the assigned routes and stops.  Please note this change may have your child riding a different bus than last year.  Please call me with any questions you might have.
