The Putnam County Elementary Character Education Program will have some new awards for the monthly winners this school year thanks to the support of the PTO.  Every student received a new key chain with this year's school theme, "Average is Officially Over" and will proudly hang their tag from their backpacks.  At the monthly Character Education Assemblies students who receive recognition for demonstrating the word of the month will receive a character path or tag personalized for that month to add to their key chain.  Principal Altiser spoke to all students about the new incentives and encouraged students to always try their best with a good Attitude, good Behavior and good Character which would in turn promote great academics.  There will be a good behavior tag each month presented by Mrs. Altiser.  

At the end of the year awards assembly students will be able to earn Accelerated Reader patches and Perfect Attendance patches, as well.  Again this year our local Hy-Vee Food Store is sponsoring the t-shirt give aways that are drawn from the students receiving the good character recognition.  We live in a wonderful community that supports our school and students.
