Read and Feed 2016
Halloween was not quite over on November 1st in the LMC. Middle schoolers and some of their younger siblings were treated to a performance from Hocus Pocus by the high school drama students. Snacks followed the performance and the room settled down for some quiet reading time. While we hated to interrupt kids when they're reading, it was soon time to draw names for the assortment of free books from which each student could choose. Group pictures were taken with the new books and we finished up with a reading from Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven.

Anyone walking by would have heard lots of laughs throughout the nearly two hour event. We're always amazed at how cooperative such a large group of kids can be and yesterday was no exception. Some even helped with cleanup! Mrs. Salas and I would like to thank all the parents who permitted their students to stay after school for this event. Making reading an enjoyable experience takes everyone's help and the extra effort you put in as a parent to pick you child up at 5:00 is appreciated. We're planning to do it again in February!
