At Putnam County R-1, we want our parents and community members to stay as informed as they can about legislative issues that are impacting our schools. Public education as we know it may be changing, but you have the power to take action and make sure your voice is heard. We all want what is best for our kids and our school, which is why staying informed and being proactive is so important. 

One excellent resource for news and updates on what is happening in Missouri public education is MoParent.com. We recommend this site for accurate and timely information compiled especially for public school parents. The goals of the site are to:

·  Enable public school parents to better help their children be successful in school;

·  Provide information on education funding and legislative issues that impact public education;

·  Provide information on Missouri’s new MSIP 5 accountability system to parents;

·  Provide a greater understanding of the public education system; and

·  Generate support for local schools and public education.
