First Presentations
Mrs. Fenton's first graders had their first taste of presenting their work in front of the class earlier this week. After studying various interesting animals, students were sent home with the outline of a person.Their assignment was to create coverings from household items such as pasta, feathers, and paper to represent the protective exteriors of their favorite critter. As an example, pangolins are mammals which have large, protective keratin scales covering their skin. Using lasagna noodles to represent the scales, a student gave a detailed description of this animal to the classroom. This fun activity engaged students on several levels and won't soon be forgotten.
