November

Careers on Wheels

As we cruise into November, we are going to take a look at what we have done the last few weeks in 2nd Grade.Check out our photo gallery!

We had the opportunity to watch a rehabilitated Bald Eagle be released back into the wild. The students had the chance to see the bird up close before he was released. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Students also had to chance to hear from local businesses in our community at our Careers on Wheels Fair put together by Mrs. McClain. Several local businesses attended and we are so thankful that they did! We had a blast!

A big thanks to the following companies: NEMR Tele. Co., Unionville Fire Dept., PC Café’ & Resource Center, MFA, Smithfield, PC Ambulance, Mo-DOT, Missouri Highway Patrol, KTVO, MFA Propane, Bus Barn, Mullenix Trucking, North MO Tire Shop, Mendenhall & Sons Tire, Shivers Mfg., Charlie Simmons, Brian Jarman, City of Unionville, Unionville Vet. Clinic, and Paul Riley Mowing.

We would also like to thank our parents who helped put on a great Halloween party. The students had so much fun playing several games. A few of our favorites were trying to get the cookie from their foreheads to their mouths and trying to get the spiders out of the tangled webs.

Coming Up:

Communication Arts: We will continue working on past and present tense verbs, cause and effect,  and comparing and contrasting.

Math: We have started a new unit on addition and subtraction without regrouping, with plans of moving onto addition and subtraction with regrouping very soon!

Social Studies/Science: We will continue working on our Native Americans unit. We recently took time to design and decorate our own Tipis.
