MS Character Education Assembly
April and May
Today's Character Education assembly covered both April (perseverance) and May (forgiveness). We also honored two community winners.
April 2018: Perseverance: steadfastness despite difficulty investing all of my energy to complete the tasks assigned to me.
Community winner this month is Junior Whitworth. Perseverance is a quality Junior Whitworth has plenty of. Perseverance is a trait that has served him well. He has worked at jobs that he did not like, but always keeping the welfare of his family in mind, he stayed the course. In 1970, Junior became a farmer, and continued to hold his "off the farm" jobs. Again, he stayed the course through low prices, frequent floods, nitrate poisoning in his corn stalks which killed his cattle, and many economic disasters. In 1979, Junior started his own business, Worthington Ag Service, Inc. Little did he know, the farm economy would soon tank. Somehow, through blood, sweat, tears, and lots of perseverance, Worthington Ag Service survived....for more than 40 years under Junior's stewardship and God's blessings. Junior has had five grandchildren attend Putnam County R-1 Schools...Ransem (graduate), Colton (senior), Chloe (sophomore), Jaxon (freshman), and Claire (8th grade).
Good attitude winners: These students have shown good attitude in the classroom and among their peers. They will receive 2-10 point bonus coupons with their certificate. Thank you for being a great example for everyone at Putnam County R-1.
