The End of the School Year is Near

PTO donation of Kindle Fire, CJ's gift cards, Caseys free food item & Hy-Vee gift certificate and cart,

The end of the school year is near when Grade-Level Assessment (MAP) testing is complete and we prepare for our testing celebration.  This year the PTO has purchased three  Kindle Fire Tablets to give away in a drawing for students who made their best effort on the MAP test and had a good attitude.  Each grade, 3rd-5th will have one winner in the drawing.  The PTO also collected donations from local businesses for additional prizes.  CJ's Convenience Store provided gift cards, Casey's donated free ice cream cones, donuts or a slice of pizza and Hy-Vee donated three gift certificates and a mini shopping cart.  The elementary students will have their MAP Testing Celebration on Monday, May 14th.

Another indicator that the school year is almost complete is having the opportunity for 8th grade students to come and speak with 5th grade students about their upcoming Middle School Career.  This week Gage, Samantha and Kora from the 8th grade spoke to the 5th grade students.  There were many good questions and answers, and the students really enjoyed hearing about the Middle School from upper classman.

The donations from local business and our PTO are very much appreciated.  Having the opportunity to see former students from the 8th grade come back and share their experiences is another great experience.  Thank you to both the students, local businesses and PTO.
