Would You Survive Jamestown?
In Eighth grade Social Studies we are currently talking about the development of colonies in North America. To further review the concepts already discussed, we played a game called, “Would You Survive Jamestown”. This is a game where you make choices and those choices can impact your score, much like the game Oregon Trail. The students each drew a card that tells them how many points they start the game with. Throughout the game, they had to choose a leader for their colony, a site for their colony, and what to eat during the starving time. These photos show a few slides from the classes and their survivors (fortunately, all of them survived which isn’t exactly accurate but they just have good decision making I guess.). The classes had a lot of fun playing this game and got to review the information we talked about the day before.
