Basketball Coaches Meet NBA Coach
Basketball Coaches Matt Klingner and Kyle Fleshman had the opportunity to hear a wealth of knowledge from NBA and college coaches at the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Coaching Clinic last Thursday.
The MBCA Coaching Clinic was held at Columbia College. Guest Speakers included Stan Van Gundy, former NBA coach, who talked about transition concepts. Nancy Fahey, coach of the University of Illinois Women's Basketball team discussed her favorite basketball drills. Sundance Wicks of Missouri Western State University provided ideas on creating a good team culture and adapting dribble drive motion to your team. Jason Otter, owner, and creator of Jason Otter's School of Basketball instructed coaches on player development and attacking the ball screen. Bob Burchard of Columbia College and Bret Burchard, Head Coach for Northern Arizona, discussed defending positions. Jerry Krause, Gonzaga University Coach and basketball author, educated coaches on basketball skill and player and team assessment. John Moseley of Lincoln University gave tips on team practice.
