Embracing Debate and Political Process
High school students in Mr. Lindhoff's class have been learning about debate and the political process. The students recently coordinated a local political forum for local candidates to engage in debate and discussion.
Mr. Lindhoff and Mary Comstock did a wonderful job helping the students come up with a list of over 100 possible debate questions. From there, they narrowed it down to the final list. On Tuesday, local candidates engaged in the forum and debate. The participants in the debate were encouraged by the effort of our kids.
Prior to the debate, Mr. Lindhoff's class invited Health Department Administrator, Ericka Klingner in to discuss Public Health, and Sheriff Jason Knight to discuss the law. Students are learning the importance of being involved in the political process and enjoyed their time volunteering.
