Poetry in Fourth-Grade
We Have Poets And We Didn't Know It!
Roses are red, violets are blue, our class is learning poetry, it's true. In fourth-grade classes, we have been working on analyzing and writing poetry. We have been learning the following terms regarding poetry: stanza, rhythm, meter, similes, metaphors, and rhyming. Our class has also been exploring the different types of poems including concrete, alliteration, acrostic, free verse, and Limerick. Together we have created a collection of our class' poems the students made and will soon be making them into poetry books. I believe the writing was the part the class liked best.
