Junior High Track Updates 2019

After battling weather the first part of the season, track and field competition is finally in full swing. As the busy spring continues, the Putnam County Junior High Track teams are having a lot of success at the meets. On the team, there are 50 boys and girls participating in track. So far one school record has been broken and another tied. Jesslyn K tied the junior high pole vault record with a vault of 7’6 feet, a record that will be shared with Claire T at this time. Blaine P broke the JH high jump record with a jump of 6’0 feet a record previously held by Gus Richardson at 5’10.  The boys have won 3 meets with their overall performance and the girls have placed in the top 5 at every meet. Each track member at each meet is striving to get their personal record or PR in the event they are in! While track is a lot of individual events it truly is a team sport as well. Another exciting thing this year is that Junior High will have a Grand River Conference track meet with the 8 east schools participating May 2, 2019, at Trenton.
