Middle School Character Education-Perseverance and Forgiveness

Congratulations to the Middle School community winners!

Mary Knowles won for the month of April for perseverance. She is the mother of Jaylee, Johnathon, Jesslyn, and Jenna. She was a substitute teacher for PC R-I Schools but is now a Victim's Advocate for Putnam County. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and crafting of all sorts.

Middle School community winner for the month of May for forgiveness is Rusty Sands. He was raised in Putnam County and graduated from PC R-I in 1988. He is engaged to Laura Willier, has four kids and one grandchild. Rusty was a lineman for 22 years, has been an auctioneer for 24 years and would love to retire from line work to do auctioneering full time. He currently works in Bloomfield, Iowa at the power plant. Rusty has been an active member of the community and has been a fair board member, Lions Club member, President of the Unionville Youth Rec League, and has helped coach for many years. He enjoys working with kids and adults and making people laugh. His motto is to find a positive in every situation.

Congratulations to the Middle School good attitude winners for the month of April and May! These students have shown a good attitude in the classroom and among their peers. They received two 10 point bonus coupons with their certificate. Thank you for being a great example for everyone at Putnam County R-1. For April: 6th grade Eli B., 7th grade Haylie G., and 8th grade Gabe G. For May: 6th grade Jenna K., 7th grade Gavin K., and 8th grade Carleigh K.

Congratulations to the character education word of the month winners for perseverance and forgiveness! These students received a t-shirt, a concession stand voucher, and a plaque. The winners are for perseverance 7th grade Marie B., 6th grade Brock M., and 8th grade Micheal D. The winners for forgiveness are 6th grade Macie H., 7th grade Abbie K., and 8th grade Dayton D.

Congratulations to the middle school students of the month for April and May. These students displayed outstanding behavior, a positive attitude, and have been a great role model for his or her peers. They received a framed certificate, a dog tag that allows them to get into PC events for free for the school year, and a box of candy. The winners for April are 6th grade Kooper H., 7th grade Trace H., and 8th grade Brayden W. The winners for May are Cab K.., 7th grade Reise B., and 8th grade Chase S.
