Middle School Character Education-Self-Control

Character Education Winner for the month of October: Stephanie Overton

    The community winner for self-control for the month of October in the middle school is Stephanie Overton. She is the nurse at PC R-1 and has lived in Putnam County her entire life and graduated from PC R-1 in 2007. She received her Bachelor's in Science in 2010 from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. She decided to go right into nursing school following graduation and obtained her nursing diploma from Indian Hills Community College in 2011. Before coming to work for PC R-1,  she worked as an OB/Gyn nurse in Kirksville for 6 years. Her kids are Tynley, age 8, Macey, age 6, and McCoy, age 3. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her kids and doing martial arts.

    The following students have shown a good attitude in the classroom and amongst their peers. They received 2-ten point bonus coupons with their certificates. Thank you for being a great example for everyone at Putnam County R-1. The winners are: 6th grade-Loralei F., 7th grade-Wyatt J., and 8th grade-Jackson F.

    The following students exemplified the character education word of the month, self-control. These students received a t-shirt, a concession stand voucher, and a plaque. The winners are: 6th grade-Valeria C.A, 7th grade-Allise P., 8th grade-Gavin K.

    October students of the month will receive a framed certificate, a dog tag that allows them to get into PC events for free for the school year, and a box of candy. Students who received this award have displayed outstanding behavior, a positive attitude, and have been a great role model for his or her peers. The winners are: 6th grade-Madison A., 7th grade-Gretchen D., 8th grade-Zayda L.
