7th Grade Reading Meets Ivan Capp
In honor of National Grammar Day, March 4, Mrs. Valentine's 7th grade Reading classes met Ivan Capp. Ivan isn't a man, he's an acronym that helps students learn and retain the 8 parts of speech. Interjections, Verbs, Adjectives, Nouns, Conjunctions, Adverbs, Pronouns, and Prepositions are the 8 parts of speech. Students celebrated by making signs/posters of their choice that describes one of each of the parts while other students brought food to share. All students wrote 8 sentences using that food to help them show their understanding of each part of speech. We finished the class period by watching the beloved School House Rock videos. It was a good, fun day!
