Football and Softball Jamborees This Weekend!

Are you ready for some football? Our Varsity Football team heads to Milan this evening for their Jamboree at 7:00 PM.  Our Lady Midget Varsity Softball team ventures over to Schuyler County tomorrow at 10:00 AM for their Jamboree.  What is a Jamboree? A jamboree is a series of practice scrimmages against multiple teams. A sneak peek of the competition and every team's strengths, weaknesses and skills.   Welcome Back to Our Putnam School Families   It’s that time again.  Summer vacations are coming to an end and the anticipation of another school year is in the air.  Our top-notch maintenance crew and the administration team have spent the break working hard to prepare for an outstanding year ahead. Preparing for the Future Starts in Preschool: Mrs. LaDonna Roberts

🧒👧🏼Preschool,  where it all begins at PCR-I. Welcome back to one of our awesome preschool teachers, Mrs. LaDonna Roberts!🙌🏻 👩🏼‍🏫Mrs. Roberts was born and raised in Putnam County along with her 10 siblings! She graduated from Northwest Missouri with a teaching degree in early childhood, early childhood special education, and elementary education. She then earned her master’s degree from William Woods University.👩🏼‍🎓 She is married👰🏼 to Jerry Roberts🤵🏻, who works at Bemis in Centerville, Iowa. Jerry and LaDonna have two daughters, Willow👧🏻 and Oaklee👧🏼, and one grown son, Joey. Willow 👧🏻is 11 and entering her first year of middle school. Oaklee👧🏼 is 6 and will be in first grade. 🙌🏻This will be Mrs. LaDonna’s 25th . . .

Are You Smarter Than a 5th-Grader?

Are you smarter than a 5th-grader? If your student has our new teacher Miss Sturch, you're probably wondering who she is.👩🏻‍🏫 Please welcome Miss Kalie Sturch👩🏻‍🏫, 5th-grade teacher. Kalie recently moved to Putnam County from Groveland, Illinois. Miss Sturch graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis with her degree in elementary education. 👩🏻‍🎓She chose to become a teacher because she loves working with kids👧🏼🧒🏻 and getting to know them.👩🏻‍🏫 When Miss Sturch is not in the classroom, she loves to be outdoors!🌳 Her favorite things to do are hike, kayak🚣‍♀️, and relax in her hammock. Kalie also loves to travel! Earlier this summer, Miss Sturch took a trip to Utah and Arizona where she visited 8 national parks. Some fun facts . . .

Science, Scholar Bowl and Sophomore Class: Mrs. Parajara

Back for her second year at Putnam County R-I, Mrs. Heather Parajara 👩🏻‍🏫is looking forward to another exciting year helping students learn more about the world they live in through a variety of science classes.⚛ Mrs. Parajara grew up in La Plata, graduating in 1997👩🏻‍🎓 After high school, Heather went on to get her bachelor's degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. She now holds a Masters in teaching with certificates in General Science for grades 5-12, chemistry and biology.🔬 This year Mrs. Parajara will have the opportunity to work with 7th graders in addition to teaching Botany/Zoology, Environmental Science, Chemistry I and Chemistry II in the High School.🔭 Mrs. Parajara is also the sophomore class sponsor, Junior High Scholar Bowl coach, Science Olympiad . . .

English, French and Peter Pan: Miss Sophie Errante

🙌🏻Please give a warm welcome back to Miss Sophie Errante. This will be Miss Errante's 4th year at Putnam.👩🏼‍🏫 Sophie graduated from Mizzou with a bachelor’s in Secondary Education of Language Arts in 2015. 👩🏼‍🎓She also has a minor degree in French. 👩🏼‍🏫Miss Errante teaches High School Language Arts (American Literature and Intro to Language Arts). She also teaches Drama, Speech and Debate, and 8th grade French. Miss Errante loves producing the high school play with the students. This year they are working on Peter Pan and Miss Errante is super excited since it is one of her favorite stories.📚 If students were to vote on superlatives, they would vote Miss Errante the most likely to correct their grammar while they're speaking. Transporting the Future of Putnam County: Allen Tipton

If your student has ever ridden a school bus to Putnam County R-I Schools, you can give a thumbs up👍🏻 to this guy for making sure they arrived safely. Allen Tipton is a 1987 graduate of PCR-I. 👨🏼‍🎓He attended Northeast Missouri State (now Truman State University)for 3 years. Allen then joined the Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard in January of 1990 and served through 1998. 🙌🏻 Mr. Tipton received an Associate of Arts degree from Spokane Falls Community College in 1992. Upon graduating, Allen worked as the Operations Manager for Tico Inc. from 1993 to 2011. He then started preaching in 2010 while taking courses at Central Christian College of the Bible.
