National Honor Society

Sixteen new members inducted.

On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, sixteen new members were inducted into the Putnam County R-1 chapter of the National Honor Society in the middle school auditorium.  Requirements for admission into NHS have become stricter over time and a 3.5 grade point average is now the standard.  Additionally, each person invited to join this prestigious organization must  possess the qualities of leadership, scholarship, good character and a heart for service to others.  This year's candlelight induction service was led by returning members and officers including NHS President, Jaylee, Vice President, Kaelyn, Secretary, Trey, Treasurer Brennan, and returning member, Mia.  PC alumnus, coach and teacher, Matt Klingner, gave the address on the subject of the four pillars of National Honor Society and how they relate to a young person's future endeavors.  Refreshments were served by returning members following the lighting of a candle by each new member.  Mrs. Kathy Rhodes sponsors NHS.
