On Saturday, March 20, at 10:00 a.m., the Putnam County R-1 Parents as Teachers program is offering an Infant Massage class at the Unionville Head Start building. DeEtta Jones will be teaching the class. The class is for infants, birth to 18 months of age. Expectant mothers are invited to come join the group and can use a doll to practice the massage techniques.
The class will help parents learn the importance of infant massage for child and parents. Some of the benefits of infant massage are infant/parent attachment or "bonding," relaxation for parent and child, better sleep, digestion aid, and relief of teething pain.
Parents please bring a blanket that your child uses at nap time/bed time. Both parents are welcome - infant massage is great for dads, too. Childcare for children over the age of 18 months will not be provided.
This is a very important time for you and your child, so come enjoy the morning with us!
