Ms. Hodges’ 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students toured the newly renovated Putnam County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. The tour was organized by Mrs. Sue Ann Varner, who is a new face heading marketing at the hospital. The students saw the improved facilities and saw several occupations within the Healthcare field. Some of the positions we observed included: respiratory specialists, laboratory technicians, radiation specialists, maintenance directors, computer technicians, social services, record assistants, food service directors, and purchasing directors. The students enjoyed seeing the services our hospital offered and various different careers that could exist in one building. It was a great opportunity for our students to experience the health field first hand and to interact with services available right here in Putnam County.
